South Washington County Schools Targeted Services provide K-8 students with access to summer and extended day experiences that advance achievement, strengthen connections within the school community, and affirm potential.
Targeted services instruction is designed to maximize student success and engagement. A variety of classes, taught by licensed teachers at no cost to families, incorporate STEM, literacy, mathematics, physical activity, computer science, the arts, and social/emotional learning. The curriculum is scaffolded to provide students with opportunities for support and enrichment as they advance through grade-level standards. Teachers collaborate annually with families of eligible students to develop Continual Learning Plans (CLPs) that define individualized goals and communicate progress.
after school program at armstrong elementary (Mathletes)
Our after-school program gives students a boost in academics and helps them strengthen social-emotional skills. This program is designed to help supplement your child’s learning at school with engaging hands-on and activity-based curriculum.
Armstrong Elementary will be offering Mathletes after school. Mathletes practice using math skills that they have not mastered yet on Dreambox in English or Imagine Math in their home language. In addition, Mathletes run an imaginary city called Mathlete City by applying real-world math skills.
Our after school program at Armstrong Elementary, Mathletes, will occur on Wednesdays, November 2-30, from 3:10-4:10 PM. The class will not be offered on November 23.
Transportation following after school programming is not provided. Parents will need to pick students up promptly at 4:10 p.m.
If your child currently attends Kids Club at Armstrong Elementary, they will be able to go to Kids Club following the program.
Participation is not required and space is limited. Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
Families that apply by the Oct. 26 deadline will be entered into a lottery for enrollment.
Confirmation of enrollment along with class details will be shared with families on Oct. 28.
